MISSION CITY CHURCH held their first service on Sunday with two full services. One attendee, a resident of Santa Barbara, said, “I feel like this church was started just for people like me!”
Lead planter Jake Barker laid out the vision for the church. “This is a church for the down and out and the up and comers, for bartenders and single moms and soccer coaches. For the addicted, the confused, the hurting, and the hungry.”
Above all, this church is for sharing the hope of Jesus with Santa Barbara! The city is a mixture of college students, the creative class, young families, and baby boomers. It currently ranks #21 on Barna’s Least Church Cities in the U.S. and #2 on the Never-Churched List.
