Journey's Crossing
Journey's Crossing Christian Church began as a dream of the church planting staff at Christ's Church of the Capital District in Albany, New York. In July of 2000, Mark Wilkinson, one of the ministers at Christ's Church, moved to Montgomery County, Maryland, in the suburbs of Washington, D.C.
Mark recruited a team of people with a variety of gift-mixes that complemented and supported one another, and just a few weeks after the infamous 9/11 attacks, Journey's Crossing Christian Church was begun. By its fourth birthday, Sunday morning attendance was regularly breaking the 500 mark and hundreds of new believers had been baptized through their ministry.
Mark Wilkinson and his team launched a second campus October 16, 2005 in Silver Spring, Maryland. Their first week had over 300 in attendance! Both campuses together now average over 900 in Sunday attendance.
